    From Colorado to Paris

Lindsey Horan is one of the most talented and versatile players in women’s soccer. She can play as a forward, an attacking midfielder, or a central midfielder, and she has the skills, vision, and creativity to make an impact in any position. She is also a leader on and off the field, having been named as one of the captains of the USWNT ahead of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Horan was born on May 26, 1994, in Golden, Colorado, where she grew up playing soccer with the Colorado Rush. She was a prodigy from a young age, scoring 12 goals in nine games for the US U-17 team when she was 15. She was also the top-ranked college prospect by ESPN in 2012, but she decided to skip college and sign with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in France, becoming the first American woman to go pro straight out of high school.

    Portland Thorns and USWNT Glory

Horan spent four years with PSG, scoring 46 goals in 58 appearances and helping the team win two French Cups and finish as runners-up in the UEFA Women’s Champions League 2015. She also made her senior debut for the USWNT in 2013 and was part of the squad that won the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada.

In 2016, Horan returned to the US and joined the Portland Thorns FC of the NWSL, where she quickly became a fan favorite and a key player. She won the NWSL Championship with the Thorns in 2017, scoring the goal in the final against the North Carolina Courage. She also won the NWSL MVP award in 2018, becoming the youngest player to do so at the age of 24.

Horan continued to shine for the USWNT, winning the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France, where she scored two goals, including the opener in the semifinal against England. She also won the Olympic gold medal 2020 in Tokyo, where she scored the only goal in the final against Canada. She earned her 100th cap for the USWNT in 2021 and was honored as the captain for the first time.

A New Challenge and a New Title

In 2022, Horan moved to Lyon on loan from the Thorns, joining one of the most successful clubs in women’s soccer history. She helped Lyon win the Division 1 Féminine title and the UEFA Women’s Champions League title, scoring 11 goals in 39 games. She also captained the USWNT in several matches, including the 2022 Concacaf W Championship, where the USWNT qualified for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

In 2023, Horan made her move to Lyon permanent, signing a three-year contract with the French giants. She also was named as one of the co-captains of the USWNT, along with Alex Morgan, by head coach Vlatko Andonovski. Horan is expected to lead the USWNT in their quest for a third consecutive World Cup title in 2023 and continue to inspire the next generation of soccer players with her passion, dedication, and excellence.

A Role Model and a Joy to Watch

Lindsey Horan is a golden girl of American soccer and one of the best players in the world. She has achieved so much in her career and is still hungry for more. She is a role model for young girls and boys who dream of playing soccer at the highest level and a joy to watch for soccer fans everywhere. She is Lindsey Horan, and she is fantastic.
