Ada Hegerberg, the Norwegian football sensation, etched her name in the annals of history as she became the first player to score 60 goals in the UEFA Women’s Champions League. This milestone was achieved during Lyon’s resounding 9-0 victory against Slavia Prague on Tuesday.

The 28-year-old, who clinched the prestigious Ballon d’Or Feminin in 2018, reached the historic mark by converting a penalty kick in the 60th minute of the match. Hegerberg’s remarkable feat was accomplished in 62 games, highlighting her prolific scoring prowess and dominance in women’s football.

Six of Hegerberg’s goals have come in the UEFA Women’s Champions League finals, further solidifying her reputation as a clutch performer on the grandest stage. Anja Mittag is the only other player to have scored at least 50 goals in the competition, achieving this milestone while winning the tournament with Turbine Potsdam in 2005 and 2010.
