In a noteworthy stride for her burgeoning career, Chelsea’s teenage prodigy Aimee Claypole has committed her future to the club by signing her inaugural professional contract. The Blues unveiled this exciting development via their official website, solidifying their investment in the talented forward.

Claypole’s contract spans until the summer of 2025, with the Barclays Women’s Super League champions holding the option to extend the deal for an additional year. This significant move marks a pivotal step in the young footballer’s journey as she gears up to further her growth within the competitive realm of women’s football.

Primarily featuring for Chelsea in the Professional Game Academy League, Claypole did make three impactful senior appearances from the bench last season. Her remarkable progress at the academy level hints at the potential for a promising career in the top-flight women’s football arena.

Claypole expressed her elation upon sealing her first professional deal, saying, “It’s a proud moment for me and my family. It’s something that I’ve worked hard for, and to do it at my childhood club is a huge honor, and to do it at this club, which is one of the best teams in the world.”

Acknowledging the trust bestowed upon her by Chelsea, she added, “It’s amazing that I’ve been given that honor, and the trust has been put in me to allow that to happen. I’m grateful, and I can’t wait to get started.”

With aspirations to emulate the trajectory of Chelsea’s forward Aggie Beever-Jones, who has flourished this season after a similar journey through the club’s academy ranks, Claypole remains eager to carve her path and contribute to Chelsea’s illustrious legacy.

The prospect of a loan move looms on the horizon for Claypole, offering her the opportunity to amass invaluable senior experience, a vital phase in her quest for further growth and development on the pitch. As she embarks on this new chapter, the footballing world eagerly anticipates the blossoming career of this promising talent donning the iconic Chelsea blue.
