In the midst of a turbulent and unpredictable 2023 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) season, one team has stood out as a beacon of hope: the Orlando Pride.

While it remains to be seen whether the Pride will secure a spot in the playoffs for the first time since 2017, their performance in the season so far has defied external expectations. After a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Angel City FC in Los Angeles on Monday, the Orlando Pride find themselves with 28 points, the same as perennial playoff contenders OL Reign. Currently, the Reign are holding on to the sixth and final playoff spot, thanks to their superior goal difference.

The path to the playoffs for the Pride will be challenging yet entirely attainable, reflecting the team’s remarkable progress this season. The upcoming matches against Racing Louisville and the Houston Dash, two teams also vying for a playoff berth in the congested table, will determine the Pride’s fate.

Whether or not they secure a playoff spot, the Orlando Pride’s 2023 season can be considered an undeniable success. The team seems to have finally found its direction and has consistently delivered crucial results throughout the season.

The Pride’s journey this season is a testament to their resilience and determination, and fans eagerly await the outcome of these crucial upcoming matches.
