The U.S. Women’s National Team is gearing up to close 2023 with two crucial friendlies against China PR, commencing on Saturday, December 2, at DRV PNK Stadium in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The highly anticipated match will kick off at 3 p.m. E.T. It will be broadcast on TNT, Telemundo, and Universo, available for streaming on Max in English and Peacock in Spanish, with coverage also on FDP Radio.

Despite a turbulent end to the World Cup, the USWNT remains unbeaten in regulation in 2023, boasting a formidable 12W-4D-0L record. Their recent 3-0 victory over Colombia showcases the team’s prowess, setting the stage for the upcoming encounters against China PR.

With all eyes on the upcoming Paris Olympics in 2024 and the recent appointment of Emma Hayes as the team’s 10th head coach, the USA aims to conclude 2023 on a resounding note. The roster comprises several emerging talents and seasoned players, all eager to showcase their prowess under the new leadership.

Following the Ft. Lauderdale match, both teams will head to Frisco, Texas, for the year’s showdown on December 5 at Toyota Stadium (8 p.m. E.T. / 7 p.m. C.T. on TruTV, Universo, Max, and Peacock).

Fans worldwide can stay engaged with Sunday’s game in San Diego through various social media platforms, including X (formerly Twitter – @USWNT), Instagram (@USWNT), Facebook, and the official U.S. Soccer App.

    USWNT Roster Highlights by Position:

Goalkeepers: Jane Campbell, Aubrey Kingsbury, Casey Murphy
Defenders: Alana Cook, Abby Dahlkemper, Tierna Davidson, Emily Fox, Naomi Girma, Casey Krueger, M.A. Vignola
Midfielders: Korbin Albert, Sam Coffey, Savannah DeMelo, Lindsey Horan, Rose Lavelle, Olivia Moultrie, Jenna Nighswonger, Emily Sonnett
Forwards: Mia Fishel, Ashley Hatch, Midge Purce, Trinity Rodman, Jaedyn Shaw, Sophia Smith, Alyssa Thompson, Lynn Williams

Hayes’ Appointment as USWNT Head Coach:

Following an extensive global search, Emma Hayes was appointed the USWNT’s 10th head coach on November 14. Hayes, renowned for her tenure at English powerhouse Chelsea FC, will assume the role officially two months before the 2024 Olympics after finishing the 2023-24 Women’s Super League season in England. The transition will see interim head coach Twila Kilgore continuing in her role until joining Hayes’ staff full-time as an assistant coach in late May.

The USWNT’s Pathway to Paris and Olympics:

With less than eight months until the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, the USWNT is gearing up to pursue a fifth Olympic gold medal. As preparations intensify, the team, among five already qualified for Paris, aims to hone its strengths for the pinnacle event in women’s football.

The Focus on the China PR Clash:

The upcoming match against China PR marks a significant encounter for the USWNT, renewing a rival spanning 58 games. Despite the historical advantage, the USA seeks to maintain its dominance against the determined Chinese side.

With eyes on the 2024 Concacaf W Gold Cup, the USWNT looks to establish its superiority against China PR, leveraging a roster rich in experienced players and emerging talents. As the USWNT steers toward the Olympics, these matches serve as critical preparations, offering a glimpse into the team’s prowess and strategies under new leadership.
